New user sign-ups rose 108% in Latin America and 98% in Africa quarter-over-quarter, reflecting increasing interest in digital asset services across emerging markets

Panama City, October 2026 — EMCD Coinhold Wallet recorded a 108% increase in new user sign-ups from Latin America and 98% from Africa in Q3 2026 compared with the previous quarter. The figures point to growing interest across two emerging markets where digital asset adoption continues to expand.

The growth comes as EMCD Coinhold Wallet strengthens its position as a global digital asset platform. Built on more than nine years of operating experience, the product now holds over $70 million in total value on the platform. Recently, EMCD introduced separate interfaces for its mining services and Coinhold Wallet, which were previously accessible through a shared website and app, providing users with a more dedicated experience.

Latin America: Stablecoins and Currency Volatility Fuel Demand

According to Chainalysis’ 2026 research, Latin America’s crypto economy reached $593.8 billion in activity between July 2025 and June 2026, growing 9.8% year over year. Argentina ranked second in the region, with $88.5 billion in activity, up 15.3%.

Currency volatility and demand for dollar-denominated assets continue to influence adoption. Stablecoins accounted for 32.1% of cross-border crypto value and 17.6% of personal wallet balances by June 2026.

EMCD Coinhold Wallet’s 108% quarterly growth in new sign-ups follows this broader trend. The platform combines digital asset storage, conversions, transfers, and Grow, an asset-management solution offering rewards of up to 14% APR, subject to applicable terms.

Africa: Retail Crypto Activity Continues to Expand

Sub-Saharan Africa is also experiencing significant growth in crypto activity. According to Chainalysis, the region received more than $205 billion in on-chain value between July 2024 and June 2025, representing a 52% annual increase.

In Nigeria, currency depreciation has contributed to demand for dollar-denominated digital assets, while South Africa has seen growing institutional participation. Cross-border transfers and alternative ways to hold value remain important use cases.

Against this backdrop, EMCD Coinhold Wallet recorded 98% quarterly growth in new sign-ups from Africa, indicating increasing interest in digital asset platforms offering multiple services through a single interface.

Everyday Utility Shapes the Next Phase of Adoption

The growing appeal of crypto extends beyond holding digital assets. A 2026 Stripe survey found that 18% of independent workers surveyed in emerging markets already receive stablecoin payouts, while 57% of respondents across 20 countries would accept them if offered.

Payment cards are becoming an important part of that experience. According to BVNK’s 2026 Stablecoin Utility Report, 71% of surveyed stablecoin holders are likely to use a card to spend their assets.

For example, freelancers paid in stablecoins may want to save part of their earnings, transfer funds internationally, and use the rest for everyday purchases. Expatriates and local residents have similar needs, creating demand for platforms that make digital assets easy to manage and spend.

EMCD Coinhold Wallet addresses these needs through an integrated offering that includes a USDT-funded Payment Card for everyday purchases, where available. As digital assets become part of routine financial activity, the ability to manage holdings and make payments within one platform is becoming increasingly important.

About EMCD Coinhold Wallet
