Artifex is a digital art project that aims to lead the evolution of the NFT space for artists and collectors. On May 24, 2021, the company announced that it would launch an NFT platform for digital artists. They also announced the launch of a limited-edition auction for NFT artworks. The auction will be based on the self-portraits of renowned artists.
A Platform For Digital Artists
Artifex is designed to be an NFT platform where digital artists can showcase their work. The auction is already live and has been going on since May 20, 2021. On May 20, original work from toomuchlag and Billelis was launched on the platform. The platform then launched digital artworks by FVUCKRENDER and Baeige on May 21. Auctions will continue for the rest of the week, and artworks by Blake Kathryn and Jason Ebeyer will launch on May 25. Other artworks from various digital artists will also be launched.

Details Of The Auction
The auctions will be released in “waves,” that will be based on specific themes. At the first auction dubbed “The Family,” the focus will be on the spirit of the NFT sector. It will feature themes of community, positivity, and collaboration. Artists that will showcase their work on the platform have gained fame on Instagram and other digital platforms. These pioneers have forged relationships between the digital and the real world. All those involved in the exhibition will showcase metaphorical self-portraits, which could be animal, humanoid, or an object.
At the start, each artwork will be auctioned as a 1/1 NFT. These NFTs will feature an Artifex, or 3D sculpture of the artworks, which will be created by art director DurkAtWork. The Artifex will be a /100 NFT, of which 67 are on sale as limited editions. These 3D sculptures will allow the artworks to exist in 3D virtual immortality.
What The Leadership Team Had To Say
According to Roger Dickerman, the founder of Artifex, they decided to launch Artifex and the auction after the success of their NYC NFT takeover in Times Square and around NY. At the time, they showcased digital art from 23 leading artists. According to him, the action will also be an opportunity to showcase limited edition sculptures that pay homage to some of the leading NFT artists. Dickerman added that:
“The industry desperately needs a solid platform that filters through the noise to reveal this generation’s true artists, while also creating an opportunity for artists to represent themselves in their work; and we’re happy Artifex will meet this need.”
What Is Artifex?
Artifex was created in 2020 with its headquarters in New York. The company works with artists and art organizations to honor pioneer artists in the NFT space. By curating original artworks as single editions, limited editions in 2D and 3D, the company is helping to create a platform where collectors can buy NFTs.
The Growing NFT Space
NFTs are one of the youngest subsectors of the crypto and blockchain space. These digital assets allow people to have ownership of real-world assets in the digital space. While the sector is still young, it shows a lot of promise. While most of the developments in this space take place on Ethereum, various other platforms such as Waves.tech have emerged as credible alternatives.
