The digital collectibles have been constructed around original box art, covering 40 years worth of classic video game memories. According to the announcement, the NFTs will feature added motions, game graphics, and 3D elements. Starting tomorrow, video game lovers will have a chance to buy, trade, and gift Atari® digital collectibles.

Fred Chesnais, the CEO of Atari®, stated that:

“We are excited to partner with WAX and bring Atari’s iconic brand and legendary games to the WAX blockchain. How Blockchain Is Involved

Blockchain offers an immutable ledger that records transactions in digital assets. Unlike traditional databases, the Blockchain is immutable, meaning transactions are stored forever and can not be changed. In a push to create more transparency and authenticity, companies around the globe continue to transition into blockchain infrastructure.

With this being said, the WAX blockchain is powering Atari® digital collectibles that are unique, certified authentic, and can never be changed. The blockchain also facilitates a marketplace where users can buy, sell, and trade collectibles with anyone in the world. WAX will also give people the opportunity to showcase their collectibles on social media.

In the world we live in today, people try to counterfeit a lot of different items. With the WAX blockchain, all collectibles are 100% verifiable, which eliminates the risk of traditional counterfeiting. On November 4th, users will have access to thousands of packs ( standard, mega, ultimate ) that include different amounts of digital collectibles based on the packs tier.
